I was a first-grade teacher in Denver for many years, and I loved teaching. When I retired, my husband and I decided on a new adventure by moving to Austin, Texas. I knew I wanted to do something creative, so I started painting every day.

And I have loved every minute of it. I’m fascinated by color and pattern, especially in nature. I also like to create my own intricate, abstract designs. Like everyone I suppose, the inspiration for my paintings comes from my life experiences – from travels, from new things I have discovered in Austin, from my childhood, from my imagination. With each picture I get immersed in the emotion of the painting. These feelings run the gamut from thoughtful and introspective to exuberant and wild. But with every painting I feel I am sending a message from my heart.

Perhaps one of these paintings, or maybe several, will speak to you. If that happens, I invite you to start a conversation with me. Please send me an email at cadcocktx@gmail.com, or if you prefer, call me at 512 365-4710. I want to connect with you, and find a way for you to enjoy that special painting in your home, or give it to someone else as a gift.

My art is a very personal expression of myself, and I want to make my website as personal as possible. Please enjoy the art on this website, and I hope to hear from you soon.
