The sun is down, the moon is up,
Time to take a walk
Among the spirits of Montmartre:

These steep hills once filled
With windmills and dance clubs,
Irascible artists of the light:
Those Impressionists.
Now filled with families of all kinds,
Joined by tourists,
And performers of the street
Who gather at the squares
To ride the carousels,
Eat sweet treats,
And watch the sights:
So much life along these narrow streets,
Within these quiet trees.
